Happy 2024! Over next next few weeks, I’ll publish a 4-part guide on everything you should know about working with Serverless/Lambda.

AWS re:Invent 2023 was blast

re:Invent was an amazing way to close out 2023. I had the opportunity to speak OnAir with AWS Developer Advocate, @AM Grobelny about Serverless & Lambda. One of the coolest parties I went to was in the Omnia nightclub. The launch of the #BelieveInServerless community began here :)

There are a ton of other amazing sessions to check out — here’s an awesome playlist of Serverless sessions you should watch!

For the most part, AWS focused on smoothing out the rough edges around Lambda scale, integrations, and development rather than releasing huge/ground breaking features. This makes sense since Lambda has been around for nearly decade — Lambda was launched 2014!

Over the past 3 years, I’ve helped manage one of the largest deployments of Lambda in the world. I’ve seen nearly every issue and problem you will run into with Serverless development.

Here’s a sneak peak at the 4 main areas in this upcoming guide:

Chapter 1: Development Best Practices (published 1/12/24)

Chapter 2: Build & Deploy tips and tricks (published 1/19/24)

Chapter 3: Optimize everything (and re-optimize) (published 2/2/24)

Chapter 4: Observe everything (and alarm) (published 2/13/24)

Hope this helps you in your Serverless journey. As always, reach out if I can help you in anyway. Join us in Discord at #BelieveInServerless and visit us at http://believeinserverless.com/.

PS. The floating LED balls were the coolest thing of reInvent 2023.

Prove me wrong :)
